Pull a rabbit out of a hat means to do something unexpected that may have seem impossible.
È uno slang che significa quindi avere un asso nella manica, fare qualcosa di totalmente inaspettato che ribalta la situazione.
Ti propongo due esempi:
“I thought we were going bankrupt, but my partner pulled a rabbit out of his hat and we landed a major contract.”
“Pensavo che stavamo andando in bancarotta, ma il mio socio ha tirato fuori un asso dalla manica e abbiamo firmato un signor contratto”.
“If anyone can pull a rabbit out of his hat, it’s Locke.”
“Se qualcuno ha un asso nella manica, quello è Locke.”
